Presidential Thoughts...

This year new records were set at the Prospect race. The winner Jamie Rodriguez broke the winning time record with a time of 35:05. Another record, we had 261 registered runners and 250 finishers. A number of other records fell as well. More about those in another article by Brian Teague.

I just love the way this race has grown over the last few years. The big thing is that we could not do it without the sponsorship and support from the business community and the volunteers. It takes many dedicated people to make this race what it is today. Without them it would be be impossible to put on the quality race we have. A big thank you to all.

Some of you may already know this was Barb's last year as Co-director. She has been in that spot for 10 years and I want to thank her very much for her dedication and hard work. She will still be on the race committee and that will be great to have her and all her knowledge with us.

It looks like the new computer system results is going to be in full swing by next year's Polar Cap run. Thanks to Heidi for doing a lot of work on this project along with E. John's help.

Well the summer racing season is near. I want to remind everyone to be careful and drink a lot of fluids on their runs. Also, don't forget the Summer Track Series is starting on June 4th at the Queensbury High School Track. These events are free and open to all, so make plans to attend.

Let's not forget the Club picnic after the Coles Woods run on August 11th. I hope we get a big turnout. There will be a lot of hot dogs, hamburgers, salads and such. Don't forget games for both kids and adults. I'm going to be cooking again this year. I hope this will not scare anyone off.

Best get running. See you on the road and trails.

Happy Running,
